Simonstone St Peter's Church Of England Primary School

Church School Distinctiveness

'The Lord is my Rock' Psalm 18:2

Building a firm foundation based on faith and knowledge to enrich life's journey. We learn to connect with God through valuing the world we share and nurturing our friendships; working together as a Christian family to achieve our best, learning with confidence to fulfil our dreams.

At Simonstone St Peter’s, our vision, “To enrich life’s journey,” is at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our Christian values and the belief that “In Faith and Knowledge, The Lord is my Rock,” we nurture children to become ambitious, curious, positive and respectful individuals who are ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the future. Through a rich and inspiring curriculum, meaningful relationships and a strong sense of community, we equip our children with confidence, character and skills needed to thrive throughout their lives and make a positive contribution to the world around them.

Simonstone St Peter's Christian Values

To celebrate our school Christian Values, we invited an artist to school! Edward Foster worked with all the children and staff to create our own 'Christian Class Values Showcase' - this was planned, prepared and created by the whole school. The result was four vibrant canvases, displayed in St Peter's Church, which represent our four values of LOVE, KINDNESS, RESPECT AND JUSTICE. This artwork also reinforces our school and church links; celebrating our Christian values, that are firmly rooted in all we do at Simonstone St Peter's!

Reception and Year 1 - Love    Year 2 -  Kindness      Year 3/4 - Respect     Year 5/6 - Justice

Community Matters

At Simonstone St Peter’s, community is at the heart of our school family. We believe that strengthening our Christian vision is a shared responsibility, and we value the important partnership between school, parents and the wider community. By regularly seeking feedback from parents and carers, we listen, reflect and work together to ensure our vision continues to guide and enrich the lives of our children, helping them to grow in faith, knowledge and character.

Pupil Voice

Our pupils are at the heart of our Christian vision and play an active role in bringing it to life throughout the school. We regularly involve them in competitions, projects and leadership opportunities that encourage them to live out our shared values. Pupils are given the chance to lead collective worship, contribute ideas for charitable activities, act as ambassadors and help shape initiatives that reflect our Christian ethos. By empowering pupils to take responsibility and share their voices, we ensure that our vision is not only understood but actively lived out by our whole school community.
We are so proud to CELEBRATE our most recent Competition Winner! This artwork will now we used as our 'Vision Logo'.

CHRISTIAN DISTINCTIVENESS IN ACTION...

Our Christian vision is lived out every day through the relationships, learning experiences and values that shape life at Simonstone St Peter’s. Alongside our daily practice, we carefully plan a range of events, enrichment opportunities and memorable experiences that help children to truly enrich life’s journey. These opportunities enable pupils to grow in faith, knowledge and character, while developing the qualities and values that underpin our vision. Examples of these experiences can be seen in the presentation below:
